When Steve Wynn's Encore Hotel first opened, in 2008, the hotel had two entry-ways and porte-cocheres.
The covered driveway closest to the Las Vegas Boulevard Strip was the West Entry and the driveway on the
other side of the hotel was the North Entry. These dual entrys were designed during the time when three other
new hotels were expected to soon open nearby (the Fountainebleau, Plaza and Eschelon hotels). After delays
caused construction on these hotels to be stalled & stopped - the Encore found better use for the West Entry.
During the last year the Encore property along the Strip was re-designed and converted
into a roadside
pool & cabana area. The former West interior entry area has been turned into the Surrender nightclub.
